This political cartoon is an etching by Paul Revere that was featured in the Royal American Magazine in January 1775. It shows a conversation between King George III and his advisors about how to deal with the trouble being caused by American colonists. Liberty stands on the left and is speaking to the Heavens. In 1774, the British Parliament had enacted the Coercive Acts (or Intolerable Acts) and closed Boston Harbor in response to the Boston Tea Party in December 1773.
